WOH's plot is not as engaging for me and I'm just not invested in any other characters beside the two MLs. And then the AHHHH moment at the end when you find out who orchestrated everything. The intrigue of the plot kept me on my toes. I cried for every character death that happened, even SL/WXC and they weren't even part of the main story. I was invested in every character that was introduced in that show. I loved the Untamed for its characters and how fleshed out everyone was. The MLs are great but I don't know what it is.it's just not pulling me in.

Started watching this and put it on the back burner at episode 14. Likely because it reminded me of the classic Wuxia novels I read as I was younger. And at the time I didn’t watch any Chinese dramas since Nirvana on Fire.įor WOH, I was hooked at episode 1. I like both, I was obsessed with TU, but not until episode 10ish as in the beginning I was trying to get used to the makeup and sets etc. The original authors writing styles are also different. Agree with another poster that the characters experiences are also different. in both dramas do make sense to me.Īlthough it is not completely comparable in that one is more about Cultivation and one is about Wuxia. In terms of acting, I like both dramas’ actors. I have not read the original The Wandering Guest given that it was older. In TU, the script writers also added some stuff so to make the story flow better. I’ve also read MDZS in its original Chinese as I am native Chinese. Watched both TU and watching WOH, waiting for WOH to catch up though as I wanted to see the YouTube version.
